Hello to all!
I am a newbie here and require some advice from more seasoned owners!!
I have recently purchased a Defender 90 300tdi which needs the rear crossmember replacing amongst other things.
The question is which brand of crossmember do I buy? Do some fit better than others? Are there ones to avoid?
Any information/experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi mark, welcome to loonyzone. They're all pretty similar, unless you buy H/D. I can't offer anything more than that but some others may be be along soon to help.

P.S. The locals here are a bit funny about noobs, so get yourself over to the introduce yourself thread and, well, introduce yourself. It's the only forum I know where people actually read the introductions. It should then prompt more people into helping.

If you are planning on keeping the 90 for any length of time, fit a pressbrake one. The quality is just vastly better. It is a bit more work to fit than the slip over type, as the rear chassis box sections are not built up, but once fitted you can just forget about it. The thinner type may rust again. The price is similar also.

Pressbrake is the nuts, also trades as Blacksheep, worth the effort, sensible priced as well.
Get it galved then it will outlast the rest of the car
He used to fit them as well, not sure if he still does
