Defender 4C - to buy or not to buy?

Hi. I am looking to buy a defender as a run around, and wondered if anyone could tell me if £1750 for a 1990 Defender 90 4C was a reasonable price? The body work is ok, taxed and MOT'd for a few months still, but the inside is a little tatty.
Any help / advice is appreciated.
 
sounds steep

1990 - could still be a 19j under the hood (thats is 2.5 TD not the 200 TDI engine)

wouldnt buy it with less than 12 months ticket at that price.

is the bulkhead and chassis solid - rear xmember new or original ?

is the gearbox/clutch noisy ?

does the transfer box work

does it have a service history ?

who gives a stuff about the body work/interior -those are cheap to fix
 
Thank you. These are just the kind of questions that I need to ask, so appreciate them. This is my first possible Landy purchase so I'm still a novice, and as such don't want to get ripped off! Thanks again.
