Main Description
Purchased by me in February 2016, the previous owner was Marketing executive from Jaguar Land Rover who used it to commute from his home in south Bucks to the JLR factory each day.

It is in good condition, given the age and main use being to and from work.
I suspect, given its condition, that it has never been taken off-road properly, bar the odd muddy car park or long gravel drive <Tut>

There is the odd scuff and mark here and there but these are age and mileage related and there is no sign of accident damage, as a simple online car check or manual inspection would back up.

It has performed faultlessly during my ownership and the only changes I have made are to aid comfort during long drives up to the Scottish highlands from South Northamptonshire.
The advice given to me was the addition of the transfer box upgrade and remap and these were by far the best changes I could have ever made.
This Defender will now sit very happily at Motorway speeds and there is no need to raise voices or overly stress the engine.
The remap takes the overall power up but the balance with the new transfer box is perfect, as will be seen and felt during a road test.

All work carried out on My Defender has been completed by Land Rover specialists EH Douglas of Wardington near Banbury.
I am sure they would be happy to discuss any aspect of the work completed on my Defender.

Please take the time to ask any questions you may have or ask for extra pictures if required. A road test can of course be arranged but please provide proof of fully comprehensive insurance for this vehicle. If none is provided, I will drive.

If this will be your first Land Rover Defender then Please do read as much as possible in the many magazines and online forums that are available.

I have this advertised on Auto Trader for £14,500 and that is pretty much solid at that price.
Please do ask if you have any questions...

I'm off to start a new business and come April next year I'll be buying a Series 2/2a if funds allow and things are going well :)

Many thanks,
Mike.

Fully comp insurance is no guarantee of cover for your info.

A very good point, plus as an example; mine only covers third party only. If I ever sell then I want the cash in my hand before anyone else drives it, I can always give it back if the trst drive does not go well.

Cheers

just in case anyone is interested, I am going to be looking for a series 2 when my Defender sells so...

If anyone is considering coming the other way then please let me know what you have by way of a part exchange.
There are a few things the series two must have.
It must be one with the headlights in the grill, not on the wings.
It must be solid and totally rot free but I have no problems with a few cosmetic issues, inside or out.
It needs to be a running vehicle, no projects or "it just needs this and that to get running, then it'll be fine"

What body type? Well I've been over this a few times, considering my needs and I think I'm of with most. I'm not a huge fan of the truck cab thing but I'm open to most and will need to weigh up the pros and cons of each. If in fact there are any!!

Price wise I was looking around the £5k mark. That's not set in stone but it should be about that.
