Hi All,

I have just purchased a 110 2.5 petrol and most of the time it runs ok but when its cold it runs like a bag of nails. I can only seem to get it to run if I put the throttle full down on the floor or use the choke.
This happens even when its warm as I use it to go to work and back which is 40 miles each way and it performs likes this every mile. But then other days it runs sweet.

I am suspecting that this is carb icing as there is no pipe connecting the air box to the manifold so that it can draw warm air - would I be correct ? If its not this then I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Allan.

Hi

The air filter looks fine - had it out and checked it but seems to be quite new. The problem I have is that it doesnt run like this all the time just when its cold - or thats what it seems like anyway as it runs sweet at other times and if it was a mixture issue wouldnt it happen all the time ?

Thanks for your help
Allan.

Ok - sounds interesting - this is where i sound really dim. What/where is the float ball, fuel filter etc.
Sorry for being thick :(

ok.....fuel filter is on the fuel supply to the carburettor [the big thing on the side of yer motor that the air goes to after it has gone thru the air filter.] the float is inside the carb....would suggest ya take it to yer local mechy to sort out....coz if ya not sure where it is, ya can get into real trouble fiddlin with it. there are normally two fuel filters. one near the fuel tank after the fuel pump, and one near the carb. the one near the carb is normally the small seethru type, easy to see if its dirty
