Hi Folks,
I went to my Discovery 2TD5 to find the battery dead flat. Nothing. no reaction to the fob. No reaction to the key in the door either. So...... what to do.
After attempting to break in, with coat hanger wire and swearing, still no go. I could lift the button on the door but with no power it just flopped down again.
I ended up crawling under with jump leads and attached a clip to the started motor. Once I put some power in that way, the Alarm came to life - sorry bloke next door - and I was able to blip the fob and open the door. Then change lift the bonnet and charge the battery.
So if this happens to you, save the potential damage to the paintwork, trim or other parts as you try and break in, just go for the reverse power option.
I hope this helps
D
