with great thanks to GRATCH :cool: i now have a 2.5 N/A 19j to fit in me tratter

and today i have been busying meself with the fettling about measuring up and sumising weather or not its a good idea to shift the battery to the passengers stow box wich im gonna do anyway now and in me mass measuring marathon i came across a bit of a conundrum

do i have to move or alter the engine mount on the drivers side chassis rail to accomodate the fuel distribution pump or will it clear the existing chassis mount :confused:

Mines got a 2.5 N/A in it that my granddad fitted and he did have to move the engine mount.

The way he did it was to put the engine in position with a hoist and then weld the mount to the chassis so it was in the right place, probably not the best method but its still there :D

Don't you mean a 12j? The 19j is the early TD engine I thought.

Either way a 2.5na will be good in a series I would have thought, post up pics!

Gonna shift the battery into the seatbox first of all then worry bout the engine mou t when i get it over the street to me mates garage as hes been wanting to do an engine swap or something big for the last couple of months now

Pics and Stuff will be showing up in me resto rebuild thread so watch out for it reappearing all of a sudden :D

Johnny, your original resto thread spurred me on to get my own S3 resto on the go. You've bloody cost me 1500 quid for a new chassis!! :D :D

Only joking. Does need a new chassis tho but so happy to be getting a family heirloom back on the road. Best of luck with the swap, I'll be watching to see how you get on
