Hi
I've been trying to fit the cruise switch to the brake pedal without success, the steering column seems to be in the way!
Ok i admit I've not been able to remove the heater blower duct, that seems a major operation in itself! RAVE just says 'remove' which is loads of help!
Anyone done this have any tips?

Strange, I fitted mine on the p38 in Rimmers car park without difficulty.

Hmm ok! Is the switch common to the RRC? The one i have looks the same. Couldn't find one listed for the p38
I'll have another go at fitting tomorrow, I'm impressed you managed so easily to even reach where it should go!
For the purpose of testing the system, i taped the switch so the cpu thought the brake wasn't pressed - didn't want to spend ages fitting to find out it didn't work anyways!
It all works fine, but the system deactivated with a touch of the brake pedal anyways! Is that some kind of failsafe in case one of the switches fails? I'm guessing so

Is yours diesel or that other stuff ? the switch kills the cruise and puts brake lights on at same time, I changed mine because cruise didnt work, on mine it turned out to be the cruise control relay that was duff. I believe the petrol is slightly different set up.

Mines a proper petrol one!! 2 switches, one with a wire for the brake lights (dead easy to get to), the other which is further up the pedal has aan electrical connection and also a vacuum connection - this is the one i can't fit

Yep automatic diesel uses brake switch for brake lamps and to cycle cruise. Manual diesel has a further switch on clutch pedal. Petrols use old fashioned vac control of cruise so the they have an additional switch to release vac.
