Hi

I have a 2002 TD5 Defender, 5 speed manual. I have extended both axle
breathers up into the snorkel. I was wondering if the gearbox and transfer
box have breathers that I should extend? I have had a quick look and could
not find them. Where are they located? Is there anything else I should do to
prepare the vehicle for crossing water?

Thanks

Robert

Most of the Landies I have seen they tend to come up in the middle of the
engine firewall. No certain about the TD5 though.

You'll need to relocate your black boxes or waterproof them in situ. It
might also be an idea to add a breather for the timing chest, to
prevent water being sucked in through the seals when it cools.
