Crazy noise when i start my engine!

one problem after a nother!

i got in my 90 today an when i started the engine it made a loud whining noise. i decided to record it...



can anyone explain what the noise could be?

it was fine yesteday.

yep starter motor if its a disco 200tdi in a 90 dont bother taking manifold off in order to get starter out from top,just use a scissor jack at bottom to push engine over the 5mm needed to get it past chassis and engine..

thats a good idea , unless like mine the top bolt would'nt move :mad: rounded head slightly ended up taking the manifold off and drive a under sized socket onto it came out sweet as a nut then :(

Late to the party Ben, only just listened to the video - agreeing starter not disengaging as it should

Might just need a clean up, or there again they can be such a sod to get off you might want to just invest c£100 in a new one

Loving the video post, but takes out the fun of you describing the noise and us guessing:D

haha i know i was thinking how could i possibly describe that noise. then i just decided the easy option haha

fo future members an nobies to landys such as my self this vid will be a god send :)
