Hi, Ive got my MOT at the end of the moth so have a few jobs to be doing to my landy in preperation. Well my first on the list has to be the rear cross member, Ive been meaning to sort it for over a year now and its condition has been slowly deteriating. From the picture attached do you think its possible to remove the corroded metal and but-weld in a new piece of 3mm galv plate, or am I going to have to bite the bullet for a new crossmember?? :(

Corrosion doesn't look that bad in the pic... I'd be surprised if it failed on that. If you do a lot of towing and want the peace of mind, then a new cross-member is the way to go. If you never tow then patching it is the cheapest ;)

ide plate it m8 ,its not that bad imo going by the pics ..galvy would be a waste of time on a plate that size tbh as you would have to loose the galvy to weld it.
