hi folks

i have just got new tyres and could do with advice
'06 110 station wagon previously running boost alloys with general grabber 235/85/16 using 33f 49r on road and wear is ok and grippy enough on road, lower pressures for muddy fields

i now have 265/75/16 cooper discoverer stt tyres on boost alloys.

what tyre pressures would you recommend for road use. i am going to try 32f 35r based on what the retailer recommended but i bet forum members know better!

i am usually alone in the car but sometimes do have 8 passengers and occasionally tow.

off road recommendations would also be appreciated.

and finally, I am probably being a bit anal about this, but the tyres are not directional are they? (ie different tyres for left and right)

i have them fitted with the white lettering outside and therefore the tyre tread pattern is different left and right, ie it is "forward facing" on one side and "rear facing" on the other side. I hope that make sense!!!!

many thanks

mike

i have bfg all terrains which im happy driving at 36-40psi.
tyres same any way round.my writing on inside.

thanks guys

i was basing higher pressures on the back on the fact that i am using boost alloys as before and f33r49 was recommended for the general grabbers.

the consensus of opinion seems to be that mid 30s is right. However, for road use why would the recommended pressure for general grabbers at the rear be 49 and only mid 30s with the cooper discover stt on the same rims ?

thanks in advance

mike
