conversion - hard top to station wagon?

First of all ...hey! Im Graham, from Belfast in a wee spot of Europe called Ulster! Yehaaa!

Looking to buy my first landy within the next 4-6 months and have a question...

Im looking at defender 90's online all day everyday. And from time to time see the odd one cropping up that has been converted from a hard top to a station wagon. Can anyone advise on this? Some hard tops are coming up alot cheaper, and im thinking the obvious. Is it cheaper to get a hard top and convert it too a station wagon? Theres probably not much of a difference, but im just generally interested to hear your opinions on conversions. Anyone had one? Any success/disaster stories?

I converted mine from pick up to hard top/station wagon, there aint much difference apart from windows in the back.

Tis a really easy job to convert between the two also. Buy what you think will be more use to you!
