Hi all.
I have a 2000 4.0l v8 hse with an air con problem. All vents are blowing as they should when selected and all buttons appear to be doing what they should apart from they are only blowing hot air.

Whether the A/C is on or off i can only get hot air and its a pain to say the least while driving having to have the windows open all the time. All i can do is turn the fans right down and close the vents but it still lets hot air out where it can.

The biggest worry is that the center console gets quite hot to touch.
The book picture can be seen on the centre display. Any Help or Idea's would be most welcome before i have to put it in to be fixed!!

Thanks for your time.

Hi

First off I am not an expert but looking through the workshop manual it says the below

Symptom - Heater Emits Hot Air Only, Driver Or Passenger Sides.

LH or RH temperature vent flaps in open position due to inoperative servo motor.
Renew servo motor.

Blown heating and ventilation system fuse.
Check and renew fuses 8 or 17.

That is on the heater bit if it is air con then if air con not working then blown air con fuse (examine and replace 8 or 17 as necessary) or the switch panel/ecu is faulty. In which case look at fuse 8 and if that is not the culprit then fit new switch control panel.

I hope this helps

Cheers Adam

Well it would appear then one of my blend motors needs replacing. had it re gassed and the right hand side vents blow cold and the left blow hot.

Is it a hard job for a novice like myself? I believe it to be a long and tricky job removing the dash?

(Just back from my first long trip in my beast and it covered 850 miles no probs in 4 days with no signs of any other probs which is great.)
