Hey, Im on here because i cant seem to find anywhere that sells cold start injectors for a range rover classic 3.5 vogue 87(i fink:rolleyes: ). The problem is, the engine wont start at all! it fires but wont crank up. Its my dad's rangie and he loves it but just cant seem to get it running. Its had a new dizzie, new ecu and fuel pump and resistor tht boosts the voltage up off the ecu (Sorry bwt tht, bit vage). we found tht it will fire wen engine start is sprayed into the cold start injector hole, but proceeds to not run after. this has taken so much time now, we just want to get it bk to its former glory and our own enjoyment. Its just a massive baffler:mad: .

Any help would be appreciated, and i do apologise for the bad knowledge.

Thanks

I can sell you a cold start injector for £20 inc UK p&p
Are you sure it's not the fuel pump or fuel pump relay. Carefully crack open a pipe nut on an injector to see if you have fuel pressue.

If you want the injector or any othewr parts call me I'm breking two 1989 3.5 efi's.

Obviously you are not getting any fuel.

Forget about the cold start injector. It's useless unless you have around -15o centigrade or lower. Needless to say: check all connectors!

Possible reason:
1. Fuel pump, fuel pump relay etc.
Check:
Remove airhose between AFM and Filter. You can see the AFM flap.
Turn ignition on and move the flap manually with your finger or a screwdriver (carefully). You should hear the pump turning on as you move the flap. If not - it is not getting any current or is dead.
and/or measure the fuel pressure after a start attempt

2. ECU is not firing injectors for some reason
a) not getting cranking signal from coil negative (there's a white wire with a black lead going to the ECU-loom via over run fuel cut off relay situated on the base of the AFM. You can measure the consistency of this wire with a multimeter and a extension wire between the coil negative and the ECU connector (I do not remember which pin, I've traded my 3.5EFI).

b) ECU faulty or resistor pack faulty (at the base of AFM also)

Refer to the manuals for testing them.
