Hello,

My Freelander (2002) seems to be having clutch problems. Pulling away in low gears is getting more and more difficult, as if I am driving up a steep hill one gear too high. Higher gears seem to be better. The clutch peddle feels normal and there is no problem getting the car into gear. It is a pertrol Freelander - if that makes a difference

My car is booked into the dealer for repairs tomorrow - but I would appreciate and suggestions / ideas so that I can assess what the garage says to me... I don't want to pay for a new clutch unless necessary!

Thanks in advance

Kate

If engine speed is rising without normal forward motion then your clutch is slipping and will need replacing.
You may also notice it doesn't take up the drive until your foot is almost off the pedal.
