Can anybody answer me a quick question.

After adjusting lock nuts on the push rod to set the pedal position, should the nyloc nut on the other side be tight, or should there be a bit of play possible in the rod?
 
Minimal play but not killed tight so barrel pivot can sit evenly in my humble opinion
