Clutch master cylinder failure - or is it?

So I've had a slight issue with the master cylinder on the 90. It's a 1989 with a 2.5 litre turbo diesel.

Essentially the cylinder seemed to have failed and the pedal went right to the floor. I expected a seal to have gone somewhere, but having taken it off and had a look, there's nothing wrong. Apparently.

I've reattached it and it all appears to be working fine again. Any idea what the issue could have been!?

I'm not too familiar with Land Rovers, so I'm not sure!

Well if it happened once its going to happen again just when you least want it to! maybe worth popping the slave out for a look see, or just replace it whilst you are there, cheap as well.
Could also be flexy hose collapsing internally, again cheap as chips.

If you are losing fluid then piston seal on slave or master cylinder may have gone look for fluid running down clutch pedal or coming from wading plug hole. If you are not losing fluid then you may have failed seal at back of master cylinder. This isolates cylinder from reservoir when you press on pedal. If this seal has gone then as you press pedal fluid goes back inti reservoir, not to slave cylinder

Seems to be leaking down the brake pedal, so I'll go grab a new master cylinder. Anyone know where I could get one near Canterbury on a Sunday?!
