ive just swapped the engine in my 2,25 s2a. i also changed the carb of old engine which worked well until engine went bang. now when i put the choke on all it does splutter and pop. can anyone point me in right direction

i had that problem after i attempted to repair my 2 1/4 petrol, i lengthened the choke cable abit so that when fully pulled out it wasn't fully closed.

i eventually sort the problem properly when i figured out what the mixture control screw did! i screwed it all the way in then back out again untill the engine ran sweet, then i managed to put the choke wire back as it was originally.

unfortunatly that engine has since past away :(

Usually / Often ..... the trick with a jet volume screw is to turn it all the way IN, then turn it out exactly TWO full turns.

It seems that the way people design these things means 2 full turns is usually a good starting point. All new engines have to be started from scratch!

So 2 full turns out is usually / often the best start.

its a pig 2 start but when u catch it u have 2 turn the choke straight off and sit and rev it up till it gets warm
