Sorry if this is a stupid question but my knowledge, what ever that is, ends at D2's.
I'm going over to France in a couple of weeks to pick up the D3 given to me by my sister in law. I've never driven one nor sat it one so no idea at all if they need anything other look see's ?
So apart from oils/fluids, water and tyres is there anything else that needs looking at before a trip ?
Think with detours to visit a couple of friends out there it'll be about 600 miles back home.
Any advice would be great, thank you.

Normal levels as per any normal car and drive it
Dont over think it, have breakdown cover, sorted.

Cruise is pants and takes some getting used to, apart from that nice drive.

Thank you all. The engine was replaced about 5000 miles ago, it's crank snapped and it's now got an engine out of a Range Rover with 23k on the clock. All belts etc were done at the time. It passed its CT, French MOT just before Christmas. Only reason I've got it is that she hates it with a vengeance. Cost her a lot of money says 10000 not sure if euros or pound notes, car came back to the UK for the engine. Far cheaper here than there. Was quoted €15,000 there. And cost her something like €1500 for the brakes to be done. She just won't drive it, prefers her Ford and wishes her 300TDI back.
Breakdown cover, okay anyone know who'll cover a French registered car, the AA won't touch it until I'm back in England, then it's classed as a car I'm in, I'm covered not the car if you get my drift. It's an easy drive back over a couple of days driving. Just fingers crossed.....

How old is battery on it ?
In my mind it's old, she's had stupid faults show up that I know even with my D2 would mean a new one. Only fault she knows is it's a bastard to start in cold, and I mean very cold. She had a fault light show before Christmas when turning and towing a loaded trailer on wet ground. The way it was explained was it juddered. Again if it was my D2 then I'd think TC had cut in. But then I know nowt about the 3's.
