I went to a coffee shop, short drive and everything was fine. Upon my departure after about 2hrs, the starting sequence was our of whack. Usually the battery, oil, airbag lights would come On and Off after engine start.

Now, none of those lights are coming On, but SRS and CHECK ENGINE has come On. (SRS goes off, but Check Engine stays On). The truck starts fine and drives normally, BUT the Temperature gauge is showing ZERO, nada, just at the bottom.

I lifted the hood and there is a buzzing sound coming from somewhere around the fuel injector pump. (with the key in 3rd position).
Mind this is a Japanese import D1 1997, tdi 300 with the electronic fuel injector, not the one with the diaphragm.

I forgot to add that my auxiliary engine cooling fans (two electric fans) would normally come On at the start, but now they are silent, not turning on at all. (I live in Jakarta and its normally 32deg here)

Hell, I don't know whats going on any thoughts?
Thanks!

(For a last week my RPM clock has been acting out working only sometimes).

I replaced the alternator already few weeks ago (to fix the Rev), but the Rev was still acting up.

UPDATE:Temperature gauge is showing ZERO, RPM not working, Speedo not working, reverse lights not working, geard shift illumination panel not working.

The latest thing I did was replacing reverse bulbs with LED bulbs and replacing park headlights (the little bulbs) with LEDs. Yesterday.

Something fried somehow, but what?

SOLVED!!

All right people this is the silliest thing I have done so far on my Disco.

So after posting the problem about "nothing working" in already a panic, I spent over 4 hours on reading forums and about all kinds of things. ECU, EDC, MFU, gauges, etc.

I found a MFU diagnostic procedure http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/multi-function-unit-64509.html and went to my car with the laptop. It didn't work.

But it the process I started to check the fuses again. Turns out the gauge fuse was blown. 10Amp. I replaced with 10Amp. but remember I told you that I put LED's in for reverse lights. So I switched to Reverse, -- fuse blown-- no gauges, etc.

Turns out Disco didn't like the LED's and upon switch back to regular bulbs and one more fuse, well everything is back to normal.

On thing I still can't figure out is how reverse light affected the fan, the gauges and the buzzing fron EDC....go figure, but its all back to normal.

Hope this helps those trying to pimp their rides with LED's
