Chassis Painting

Hello, I'm starting to make some progress finally on my series 3 88 rebuild. At the moment fairly unhappy with how I painted the richards chassis i got so looking for some advice on how to hopefully remedy the situation.

Basically got a new galv chassis and coated it with t wash to prep for paint, etch primed it and painted. I used some tetrosyl chassis black paint which i put on with a brush. Problem being the dam stuff chips so easily and flakes off if I even so much as slightly scratch it. Bad idea but I bought it to save some money (lesson learned) when I should have used Jotun paints.

Looking for some advice how to strip back the tetrosyl without damaging the galv and without making too much of a mess... if that's evening possible. Normally I'd just paint over but I'm certain the Jotun would react with what's on there already.

Spent too much on it see, I used brick cleaner (less than a fiver) and twenty quids worth of silk finish gutter paint, still on after four years with not the slightest sign of a chip

First time I've done anything like that so wanted it to be right but feel it's backfired. Would just be good to get it mostly off to start a fresh without damaging the galv. The etch primer made a really tidy job tho. Just a pitty about the top coat. Haha good shout with the gutter paint!

Depends on what it is?

My vehicle was once a much beloved thing and was Dinitrol treated in it's life and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the Dinitrol seems to be impervious to just about anything I throw at it apart from a 120grit flap disc

I think I've come to the conclusion it's staying on but I'll spray over it. I've not got a compressor at the moment for spraying unfortunately. Has anyone ever used one of them eletric spray guns?

They ain’t bad for such work but no better than brush painting as normal then stippling.
