Time has come to replace brake pads. it seems there are two different types, 1 type for YA chassis no prefix, and 2nd type for 1A chassis no prefix.

However,
my chassis no as shown on logbook, dunt have that kinda prefix. Have all the usual letters, which then run *******E13A2*****
(letters up to E, numbers after 2)
so i take it this is a 1A chassis no., or is is 1A onwards, so there is a 2A,3A ? any advice gratefully received.

digit 10 in the chassis no is model year
J=1988
K=1989
L=1990
M=1991
N=1992
P=1993
R=1994
S=1995
T=1996
V=1997
X=1998
Y=1999
Z=2000
1=2001
2=2002
3=2003
etc

your chassis no should look like

SALNYE13A2****
