chassis cab

how hard do you think it would be to make a chassis cab using a series 3 109? shirly all i would need is a damaged rear tub to brutalise for the bulkhead and fit the rear lights to the rear crossmember

What do you mean by a chassic cab?

chassis cab! the cab at the front and the rear has nothing on it, no rear tub

Oh yeah! duh! Why you want one of them?
You could just take the rear tub off a truck cab and call it a day couldn't you?

Be like a flat bed pikey transit though? Sounds like it would be easy to paint your chasiss?

it was so i can sort the rear of the chassis while still using it

I know, given the time I would take the whole body of my88" series3 72 just to weld yet more scrap metal to it!

i'm sure it wouldn't take that long to do

that's right, you have to chop about 8" off the tub and form a plate that goes under the base of the cab to fill the gap

one of the mags did an article not so long back showing a really nice red one that a pair of twin brothers had done along with the engine out of a P6 - and just a inch thick sheet load bed at the rear

am very tempted to that exactly that but with a SD1 engine

ah i think your right about it being a 2a - isnt a trayback what your after ?

i just remember them being twins and thinking i bet they never get laid

hahahaha it was basicly so i could sort out the rear of me chassis while still using it (she's a 109 so it would be one hell of a trayback )

dont think plod or vosa would be happy with that - might end up with kids and small animals being trapped around yer drive shafts

why not? lorries run like it and so do transit vans, as long as i have a set of mud guards i cant see the problem its all exposed from below normally anyway

hmmm you might be right - certainly make cleaning the chassis rails a lot easier

and will give me a chance to make the rear shock mounts better than i have done
