hello :)

I am currently looking at buying a Disco.

I have found one on ebay that looks in good condition but he says:

'The car has been parked up and forgotten about for around 5 months as the catylictic convertor has gone. Before it was 'parked up' the engine ran fine with no problems. They recharged the battery and started it the other day and it was a little smokey and dont know whether it cause its been 'parked up', because the cat has gone, or something else'

Is there a pipe i can buy to remove the cat? whats the best way?

Cheers

Dale

If its a petrol engine and registered before 1 Jan 1993 (I think) then you can get away with not having a cat but any time after that it will need the cat as it is a testable part of the emissions test. I think rimmer bros do all the exhaust bits and will probably sort you out with a cat. If its a diesel then just replace the cat (particulate filter) as you will have no problems with emmision checks.
