Hi All
Got a 90 a few weeks ago and decided to use a Imo car wash today to get some of the grime off. When going through, the rollers got to the windscreen and dragged the wipers up making a loud crack resulting in the wipers lo longer sitting horizontal on the windscreen. They still operate but don't return to the horizontal position. Any clues on a fix for me to have a look tomorrow? I'm going back tomorrow to put a complaint in as the manager wasn't there, but have taken details etc and spoke with him on the phone.
Thanks

Not absolutely certain what wiper set up you have, but it is possible that the splined adaptor has just turned on the steel stem.
There should be a grub screw. Undo it, and turn the wiper blade back to the right position, then do up the screw.

The moral of this tale is that Landrovers don't much like being washed, so don't! :D

Lift up the plastic covers on the wiper arm, remove the nut & pull the wiper off & check the splines
on the spindle & arms from stripping damage. If no damage just reposition them.

The likelihood is, the wiper arms were forced upwards and the spindle gears jumped a tooth on the drive cable.
That was the crack you heard. lt happened to mine when they were frozen to the screen (l've since replaced the whole system because there was play in the drive and they were noisy)

However if you've adjusted the wiper arms on the splines and they are now working correctly, you've got away with it.
