All,
Just a quick reminder about this one - I've included the original post
below.
We currently still have space for a good few cars, but I need to know who's
coming in the next couple of weeks.
I've just booked a slot to Cannock Chase on the evening of the 4th September
to see the Shugborough Hall Fireworks display from a somewhat unusual
position.
There is space on this run for up to 15 vehicles and the cost will depend on
how many cars we get.
If we get less than 10 cars then the run will cost £50, however if we get
10-15 cars then the cost will be £40.
The rough plan of events is that we all meet up at the Pines Cafe (The one
we normally use as a breakfast joint) between 18:00-18:30 where we'll get a
Barbie put on for us, all the better to be completely well fed before
heading off. There will be a small charge for this which I'll detail as and
when the cafe let us know what it'll be.
Around 19:30 we'll head off for a reasonably quick run of 45minutes to an
hour to get us into a decent vantage point to see the fireworks at the hall
which should start some time around 20:30. A picnic at this point is
optional, but highly recommended.
There are four companies who seem to compete with each other to see who can
make the biggest noise and the most sparklies with each display lasting
20-25 minutes.
After the sparklies have finished we'll take a slightly longer route back
off the Chase and those of us who wish to can adjourn to a local hostelry
while bidding farewell to others.
As places are limited I need to start taking names about now-ish.
As is usual for one of these, I'll accept cheques to cover the nights costs
as long as they arrive at least 10 days before the night so they have time
to clear. Cash on the night is also acceptable and I'll give details to
anybody who wants to do a BACS transfer.
If you're interested in coming then can you drop a line to
[email protected]
Letting me know how many people you're bringing (so I can figure out how
many need catered for) and how many cars you are bringing (so I can figure
out how much it's going to cost per head).
As soon as I've got an idea on numbers I'll post how much it's going to cost
for each car back here.
Could you also possibly indicate if you're willing to take passengers whom
you didn't bring and if so how many as I know of a number of people who'd
be interested in coming to this, both for the offroad bit and for the
fireworks, who don't have offroad cars (or in one case "offroad Ka's").
Look forward to seeing you there.
