Can i Have little help?

Hello to all.
I'm trying to buy a Land rover defender from the UK but i have little problem with the models.
My country has taxes to import a car and are separetes in three catecories(pickup,van and estate).The tax of a pickup is 650 euro and an estate is 14900 euro.

My question is :At UK the ownership papers of defender write the category? And if a defender is on that papers estate can i change the category at UK before import that car in my country??

Help please.

I don't think it is written on the ownership papers here, I converted my 90 pickup to an estate, didn't write to tell them. Anyone please correct me if i am wrong about this?

My registration document just says "Light 4x4 Utility" in the Body Style section.
It used to be a pickup, it's now a van (although it has blind-spot windows behind the B pillar).

yep, mine too WAS a pick-up and is now an estate. (or a van)

Think mine was too! Yer can tell whay it shoulda started life as by one of the letters in the VIN number.

I would get it, take the roof of it at the back and say to them look its a pickup, once you have paid for it all stick the roof back on.

Why the hell do you need to pay 14900Euros for an estate is that a joke or something?

Now i can search for a defender without looking only for pickup.

The 14900euros is not a joke

So you need to pay a one off 14000 import tax, why do they hate estates?

I was told recently it's the same in Norway - like £12000 import tax
