can eny one help me p38 2.5 diesel cyinder head

hi there looks like i ham haveing a nightmer with this car it looks like sumone as snaped the boilt of where you put the timing gauge in to the injector pump so it looks like i will have to tack the pump completly of and sort sume ones mistak out just carnt beleve the trubel i ham having with this car
 
i well been in my garege hall day tring to time my diesel pump up but it wont time up . as eny body got eny help full advise on how to do it or whiy it wont .eny good advis will be grat as dont no what hels i can do
 
i there yes put it hall back to gether and started it and it is still smoking so i have come to the conclusen that the block is cracked cos hall the engine timing is right and and fuel pump is timed right so it as to be the block so it looks like a nuther engine.so i carnt justify spending eny moor on it so i ham gowing to sale it or break it

Never ever heard of a cracked block on this motor. More likely snapped or worn piston rings if you have fitted a decent new head on it. Thought you said you had one wet piston. That still sounds like a dripping injector to me.

hi there had hall the injectors servisd it is not rings i cheqed the will i had the head of .the water is still presherised in the pipes i no its not the head cos i had it tester be for i fiterd it so thats the only thin i can think of

If it was a second hand head, it could well still be the head pressure testing is not a 100% way of finding a cracked head.
Bad luck that you still have a problem.
 
i thanks every one for hall the good help and info it looks like the engine is nakerd so it will be a nuther enging .give up on it so i ham gowing to sell or break it havend disiderd yet . this car ran faultles be for the engine went
 
i had same problem spent a packet on my engine and no success so saved and bought a bmw 525tds and swapped the engine into my p38 it cost less than doing the headgaskett
