I took on the police with a speed camera 'aledged' offence - and WON, I still got a fine (long story) but avoided the points !!!

Don't suppose you have breakdown insurance (AA or similar)? They usually include free legal advice. You might even get it on your house insurance. Magistrates will usually listen helpfully if you present a clear case. A statement from any of the people you helped the day before would also help to prove you weren' just ****ing about.

Sorry about that. Some of them do have legal cover I think. So also do some car insurers - mine does - would depend on your policy but could be worth checking. Mine is Norwich Union Direct. Apologies if it's another red herring.
