Can a TD injector pump be fitted to 2.5 NA

My pump is leaking on my 2.5 NA, i have a spare pump that has been reconditioned that came of a 2.5 turbo, so can this be fitted to my 2.5NA?

Pumps are the same except there is a boost diaphragm housing and linkage on the td pump.There may be slight differences in fuel delivery setup but it will be unimportant. As far as I know the boost setup will just remain inactive as you have no turbocharger to suck on the rubber tube.There may be threads on here about this if you search, I know it is not uncommon. I have never actually done this job, my turbo is fine, don't see any reason you will have a problem though.
 
Ok, thanks for your replies, i have made an intro now. have searched but could not find an answer to my question. So where the pipes would connect to the pump for the turbo would these connection remain unconnected or do they need blanking off or some other modification.

OK, I have had a look at my engine and at a spare pump. As I said I have never done this, if you go ahead and it damages something it is your choice, don't whinge about bad advice!
Common sense and my general pump knowledge suggest the following. Here is a pic of the boost setup,

As you can see there are two threaded holes in the diaphragm housing, the right hand one, which has an arrow marked"air" by it, is where an air pipe from the turbocharger compressor housing attaches. I said the other night it was a vacuum pipe, in fact it is positive pressure. Find a suitabl threaded plug or bolt and a copper washer and blank it off.
The diaphragm should just remain in its position as there is no pressure change to activate it.
The other (nearer pump body) hole is where a fuel line leads off to the injector backleak rail. My guess is that this pipe returns overspill fuel from the boost setup to the bacleak rail. I am fairly sure you could cap this too, but for safety it might be better to plumb it onto the backleak rail, you may need a new banjo bolt or the like. Best of luck :)
 
Nope, but have worked on cars and other things quite a lot before, and have read every thing that i can find about the job.

Have started the job but have got stuck, have removed the water pump and got round to removing the crankshaft pulley/damper, the bolt came out easily enough but the pulley wont move. Tried a 3 point puller which didn't work so made a puller from a 5 ton hydraulic jack which has failed to move it as well. Have read on the internet about heating it but i am concerned about the rubber. So just wondered if anyone had any ideas?

With any stuck part and a puller I would try this. Blast loads of penetrating fluid into the joints as you can. Attach best puller and wind it up until its as tight as it will go. Leave overnight. In the morning, come back, try and wind the puller a quarter turn more. Then give the stuck part a couple of sharp smacks with a club hammer.

Well done, that is the way to go, I often make tools for these awkward jobs, it will save time each time you do the job again.
