Was there a recall for the tdi 300 engine to fit a modified back plate. as it was found that the original was rubbing and wearing the cambelt. or have i got my wires crossed

Nope you not crossed yeh wires
There was a mod to the 300tdi crank pulley to stop the cam belt slipping over and wearing on the casing and after time going "PING" They should have all been done my now!Jason

Thanks for the info Jason. As you may have gessed I am being told that I have to pay for this part by a main dealer. The bill will be big enough, so if they are taking the pee then I would like to piont out the error of their ways.
