I don't know what that means....but

If it was a UK vehicle the main thing to look out for is rust in the boot floor, rear wheel arches, sills and front inner wings, although this may not be a problem in Cyprus.

After that check for strange noises, smooth gear changes, leaks, smoke, do all electrical items work, has it got a service history, when was the cam belt changed

There is no rust, and no service history, I will have the cam belt changed when I get the vehicle, what I was looking for; is there a special LR weakens when it comes to the mechanics and so forth had my jeep for 8 month and there were every mechanic problem with that on so now it has to go.
Had a LR 110 as a work vehicle in Sierra Leone some years back and it was a great vehicle.
Thought Jeep’s were as cool but not. Will have the Discovery in a week.

The Discovery is good for years if it is maintained. Seeing as you have no service history then it would be a good idea to change all the fluids (both axels, transfer box, gear box and engine) and fuel, oil and air filters immediately.

Check that the transfer box lever works, forward and back for high/low range and left right for difflock. If it hasn't been used then it may well have seized.

Just forward of the rear axel on the right hand side you will find the fuel sedimenter. It has a drain plug on the bottom, open this (carefully, they snap easily) and check that you get clean fuel out. If you don't you need to undo the bolt on top to take it apart and clean it, when reassembling you will need new seals.

It is probably worth taking off the intercooler and cleaning it...
I could go on, but its just occurred to me that if you got yourself a Haynes manual you would find it all in there and it would save me writing loads....

What I am really saying is check that everything appears to work as it should and then give it a good service.

The things that tend to go wrong are leaky sunroofs, electric windows packing up etc...other things are normal wear and tear

Richard's right. Cherokees are rubbish (although they have more leg room in the back seats). Did the braking system keep falling apart on yours too? The nice thing about your Disco is that they will probably have sorted out all the factory-fitted faults that it originally came with, so you'll just have normal maintenance to do....:)

(That can be quite a lot of normal maintenance though...)

The ABS has been playing up for 8 month on my Cherokee and after three mechanics have given up well so have I ... that and the steering and the suspension and fuel system and well it will take a day to writhe it all down...so now I want a Land Rover.
Manny Thanks to you all for your replays
Bill
