Buying?? 90

Greetings, I am totaly new to the world of Land Rovers, the only one I ever drove was a Two and a quarter petrol, as a surf wagon down in Cornwall, I would like a 90 tdi Van or Soft top, there's one up the road with modulars and a slight lift, Like it! What do you look for? one's on ebay? Can any body Help with info for total NOVICE, Thanx Ian

I find it ideal as I can throw anything in/on it and park it anywhere.

As for model etc... you prob. need to make some indication of budget...

Yer can get yer boards in a 110 better and there's more room to get changed when it's brass monkeys outside.

I agree that 4x4 prices in general are plummeting but I kinda get the impression "older" landies are not too badly effected because people tend to keep them as occasional work horse vehicles.

I am not looking at autotrader enough to notice though to be honest.

From what I hear ALL car prices are falling as people are having to sell desperately to make ends meet...then again that was in the newspaper and who believes that drivel?!!!

I reckon the more expensive stuff is going down but it still isn't easy to get a decent older Landy for a bargain price.

I found one thats just down the road, Its a soft top with new Canvas, new tyres, and looks clean! What am looking for Xmembers look almost new, and have a coating on them, Inside floor pan also solid! Engine wise havnt a clue? Its the original lump, What sort of MPG will it give, are these engines cool to run on vegie oil? This one has been jacked up does that have any effect on trackrod ends and steering? Thanx ian
