I'm going to have to replace both my bulkhead outriggers (on a 90) sometime soon and wanted to know if anyone on here has done it before and has any tips or advice. I have found out that you can do it "in-situ" but any firsthand knowledge would be good
cheers

There is a loom in the drivers side, so beware when welding.

I ran water through mine when I replaced my outrigger.

It's pretty straightforward just a bit fiddly due to awkward angles to weld at. If your footwells are shot it's a bonus because if you cut the rotten footwell out first you can get at the outrigger no problem.

I did this recently, in situ, but like hueghsey says had to cut out the footwell to be able to get to the top. It was rotten anyway, so didn't matter.

If possible its best to leave the top part that wraps over the chassis leg in place from your old one, cut this bit off the new one and then match them up and weld a seam, it makes the job a lot easier as you can then get to it all from inside the cab and in the wheel arch

Another important point is making sure the new one is properly lined up with the A-post bolt hole before finally welding in. Jack the A-post up slightly and support it with a pile of bricks or sumfin before you cut the old outrigger off. Clamp the new one in place and raise/lower the a-post with a jack to line up the bolt hole.

Good luck;)

ok cheers for the advice guys. Will wait till it warms up a bit and the tractors are moved out the garage at work. I'll try and take pictures as I go along
