I think it's often the luck of the draw. I had a BP screen-wash pump fitted that only lasted seven months - but then the genuine LR item that replaced it didn't work at all! At the end of the day where do LR scource their 'genuine parts' that often cost a fortune? With labour rates so high in Europe my guess would be the same 'place' as suppliers like BP.
