So, brought freelander td4 2003 back in March..been running fine.

Last weds it would start. Turned Iver wudnt fire up. My mechanic (not familiar with land rovers currently works with lorrys!) checked most common areas. The fuel pump was not making any noise on ignition ie the buzzing/whining. Eventually it started. He plugged it in and fault code 2160. Egr valve nothe responding. Two landrover specialists said fuel pump. And if you gave it tap with hammer it started lol! Off I trot down to euros who sell me wrong pump back I got for a diff one. The pump on mine is in the rear wheel arch much to my mechanics annoyance!

So all fitted and on....car runs alot better no longer lagging picks up nice again. However!! Really loud humming buzzing electrical sound whilst driving and doesn't stop like used to? This is the only one euros had that will fit no more expensive alternative it was £100 but with discount was £60 believe it's a HAAS one. I also noticed when started my freelander before it sounded like someone was jolting the throttle "brum brum brum" sorry very girlie explanation and now that seems to be pretty non existent so it seems atm pump.was.dying however why so loud?? Can anyone help? Is this normal? Have others had this? So annoying! Cars grrrr! :) TIA

hi

it is better to buy a genuine one from the Land Rover dealers , others just don't seem to last

I assume he also replaced the fuel filter at the same time

may I ask has the engine been serviced , has the rest of ur freelander been checked out , make sure any new tyres must go on the back as the vcu won't like it

there is a freelander section so if u like to post in that section there's always plenty of us to help

maybe one of the mods can move it over there for u
