how long can i get away with warped rear disk on 110 hardtop td5 1999 drives ok but click click click at low speed D.O.E [nct] due next june thanks for any help and happy new year

Question is, is it warped, CRACKED, or badly mounted?

You need to find this out damned soon.

If the disc is cracked, and a chunk comes adrift out of it while you are braking, the rest of the disc may demolish the whole caliper next rotation of the wheel, and could even lock the wheel up and cause a big crash.

I suggest you take the disc off soonest possible, and examine it very carefully. One can tell by the way it "rings" when tapped with a pin hammer if it is cracked, but someone will need to show you this.

Clean the mating faces of disc and hub very carefully, coppergrease the faces, and re-fit the disc if you are confident it isn't cracked.

Pray.

If it is still wrong, buy and fit a new disc.

People will recommend dial gauges and stuff. Big deal. You don't have them, you don't need them, and the method above is surer anyway.

I have been told by my mechanic that they were warped but I could not stand the noise any longer. I have just replaced the disks and pads at 122 euro for the parts less than half what I had expected all is well again. Thanks for the advice CharlesY

Good decision.
There is no way back from warped discs.
You may have saved yourself from a big crash. You'll never know.
Best not to take chances with brakes.
