Hi all, looking for some clues on where to start trying to diagnose my lack of brake light issue.

Normal running lights come on fine on the rear but no brake lights come on.
It happened the other night. It may have been after briefly flicking the infra red toggle on, after driving the car home. The following day, after flicking that switch again, a wire burned out. Ive since replaced this.

It could be that something else has packed in as the landy has been sitting a while outside.

I see there are a couple of silver boxes wired into the main light control switch.

Any help on this would be appreciated.
Regards,
J.

Mine is an ex MOD FFR, it's a high current circuit that switch the normal lights over to infra-red ones.
Apparently it was notorious for failure and apparently mine failed on saturday. I wired it back together but needless to say i wont be touching it again...

Back on the subject of the brake lights, i bridged the switch under the bonnet and they came on fine so a quick removal of the switch, a bit of a spruce up with cleaner and then setting it back up in the correct position and all is working again fine.

The brake pedal is a bit hard so i imagine the fact that the rear offside is binding adding to this meant not enough pedal deflection was being made to cause the switch to be activated.

I'll give it a more accurate setup once i overhaul the rear brakes at the weekend.
