Hi all...

Just stripped out the brake & clutch MC's.

The brake MC is a CB type, whereas the clutch is a CV type...

Can i swap them over?

I was led to believe by Haynes that both MC's should be the same type in production. Im hoping that if they are interchangeable i can get a better result on the brake bleed.

The seals in both seemed ok, certainly not what i was expecting.

So, in short, the CB cylinder that was fitted to the brakes was quite poor, resulting in no brakes at all.

The clutch cylinder, CV type, seems to be ok.

At this stage i'd rather have brakes and sort out any issues trying to get into gear at a later date....

No you cant swap over , CB type master cylinders are a pig to bleed , unless you are using pressure fluid bleed system . start by fitting seal kit. then bleed system , locking off at flexi hoses can help .

So could i fit 2 x CV types? Again, Haynes seems to suggest that they can.. lol..

As for the CB type, i swapped that onto the clutch line and it bled ok! The CV from the clutch line to the brake line wont bleed at all!

Bugger this anyway, im ordering 2 new MC's, so you reckon i should go with 2 CV's?

Replaced both the cylinders, re bled the system and now he locks up on all 4 wheels... Cant be better than that i guess!
