Wasn't sure which area to put this in so thought I'd try here.

I have just coil sprung my 80 chassis and have fitted some early rangy axles (late 70,s/early 80's) ish. The front calipers have two fluid feeds.

What I want to do is replace the front calipers with a single feed set but Im not sure if or what model to get these replacement parts from.

Lastly I have not built a servo into the brake system and would like any pointers on what master cylinder to use, currently a clutch pedal assy is fitted but not yet plumbed until some advice is recieved.

Cheers for your help.

I would go for an early (Pre ABS) master cylinder and just pipe into one port on the calipers as earlier models wii probably not have the dual system. If you require the dual system, copy the circuit for the early Rangie/Disco without ABS

Do I understand that correctly that if i pipe into one union the caliper will work, are they not linked so the pressure would just exit the other union???
Could the other union be sealed but will that trap air causing spongy brakes?

The "Spare" union could be sealed but if the system is bled properly, preferably by using a pressure method, there should not be a problem with air being trapped especially if the piston is also clamped in the retracted position as well, thus reducing the cavity to the minimum.

Now heres another brainfart Ive just had, If I was to split the master cylinder feed so I could use both the feeds would that mean I would have twice the pressure in the caliper???
Hydroblics do my head in...
