i think as you will posibly need to remove it at some stage to replace the bulbs then some thing like rivnuts would do or pannel clips

I'd be dubious of using any kind of adhesive as none is really going to last forever, given the elements ( wind,rain, temperature etc ) hitting the bonnet everyday i'd be more inclined to physically fix it with bolts or some form of quick release set up.
