Hello all, my original bonnet from a '79 88" has a framework that is almost non existent so I bought a 2nd hand one that is a bit better. However on closer inspection I noticed that the 'striker' is fixed differently. Both are 'Deluxe' with the spare wheel dish. I'm thinking that the 'upgrade' will fit but what is the difference? Thanks.....

Think there’s some adjustment in the latch position so should be ok, probably first bonnet the striker rusted off it’s original position and then bodged

Your replacement is likely a series 2/early 2a one. If the bonnet has hinges held by 4 bolts this confirms. later bonnets have 3 hinge bolts.

Just checked the bolt pattern and both have the same 3 bolts pattern. But I'm thinking it might be from a 2a alright, the striker appears to be a sturdier structure than the 'later' type.....
