New to the world of land rovers, but loving it! Bought my 1998 Discovery ES about 4 months ago, bought a 'parts car' about a week later haha! So far ive done a full service, new front shaft, new hardy spicers at the back, new thermostat, water pump, head gasket, HEAD, manifold gasket, welded 3 patches, and traced and rectified 4 wiring problems! and now i have a juddering (see other thread) but i still wouldnt change to a land cruiser or one of those poncy 4 door pickups! They are soo easy to work on, well considering how complex 4wd's are! I was worried about doing the head gasket but except for having 18 head bolts, its ecactly like doign it on a mini! Even the rule of 9 when setting the tappets! how easy! PS is this coincidence or is it a rover thing? I intend to tart her up a bit and respray her, then maybe a suspension lift and a big roof rack and lights etc etc, any advice on what to do forst amd what i need and dont need, i will be off roading as much as i can in spare time. Is there much of a LR scene in northern ireland??
