Just picked up a cracking stainless steel roofrack for my 90 for just £26 of Ebay, it was from a crew cab 130 and was bolted on permanently.

I was planning to make some fixings to allow me to take it on and off, but on seeing it, I think I will leave it on all the time, so am leaning towards drilling the 8 (8mmm) holes through my hard top roof to fix it in place.

Questions:

1 - What is the best way to stop water finding its way in around the bolts?

2 - Any problem with it being stainless? Should I put some rubber between it and the aluminium roof? ALso I want to use stainless bolts, are they OK or will I get corrosion issues?

Cheers chaps, great forum.
