bluetooth retrofit

i've taken the plunge and retrofitted bluetooth to my l322, i bought the ulf module 6th gen (mit-ses on the label) for £120 off ebay, also dropped lucky with the bit 2 to ulf conversion harness and found a used one for under £50 and the cradle for £30 also used so a pretty good deal.

now it connects to my iphone 5s no problems and uploads the phone book totally happy with that, just had a ses jumper plug delivered from my local bmw dealer, and voice control isn't working, it works as it should with my original voice control module, but not using the voice control in the ulf (with the ses jumper plug installed).
to my understanding to i need to use something like navcoder to enable the voice control? is this the only way to do it?

I used Navcoder on mine, not sure if you can do it with anything else.
