Sometimes I could throttle them (anyone of them would do really  ).

So I apply for a V5 in my name saying to change it over to diesel from petrol too. A nice letter saying I'm a time served engineer and doing it myself and using a disco engine that I already own and have the V5 for the disco in my name.

So you'd think if they have any doubts about if it's a real engine number, CC or fuel type the can look up their system and see that L309 blah blah blah belongs to me and is a 2.5 diesel with engine number blah blah blah.

But no I need a receipt for the engine, an inspection or some other pish.

FFS DVLA YOU HAVE IT ALL ON FILE ALREADY!!!!!!

just get a receipt from your mate then.sorted.;)

well your principles are holding the engine swap up,aint they.:p:D:D

Not really lol. I'm in Egypt on my slightly late summer holiday. I'm actually getting my mate at the garage to fit the engine this week so it's ready for me to plumb and wire in next week when I get back. So he won't even be telling porkies when he says he fitted it. It just ****es me off that they already know all the **** about it.

lucky sod.enjoy the holidee then.:D

fuel type change is what will need inspecting, it always has done

p.s. never do more than 1 change at once, my friend reported a colour change on his p38 and a plate transfer at the same time, he had to take it to dvla office for inspection

"Change to fuel type

DVLA will need written confirmation of changes to fuel type for vehicles registered after 1 March 2001 if:
•your existing engine is converted, the confirmation must be on headed paper from the garage that carried out the work
•a new engine is fitted, the receipt will be required as confirmation
"

it now looks like they do this for all

I have never been called in for an inspection for fuel type change, but was fully inspected when assigned an age related plate...

Well it gets worse!!!

Had an email off them today saying this

Thank you for your email regarding the request for evidence you have received. Unfortunately as you have not declared in your letter what is happening to the other vehicle displaying l309*** then this is insufficient evidence for us to make the necessary changes.

What does it matter what I do with it it's mine!! I replied back saying I was stripping it of all useable parts and scrapping it afterwards and included this photo of it for further "proof"
