Blocked oil breather ?

Hello gang,
I think I may ahve a blocked oil breather I have oil coming out of my dip stick when the engine is running, where is the the filter unit on my engine I have trolled through rave and cant find it I have a 3ltr td6 range rover on a 02 plate, Also would this cause my engine not to start periodicaly have changed all the filters air,fuel,oil when this happened before as it was due an service anyway and this cleared it but it has done it again and the only thing new is an oil leak from somewhere and oil out the dip stick

Any help?

the breather valve system is on top of the engine and is supposed to be changed anually, its on 35 quid from a dealer. get one bought and stop being tight.

where abouts under the plastic cover yes? I'll get one as soon as I can see if i can change it any pics to help ?

yep just wip the plastic cover off and you will see it sat there, its a black funny shape piece of plastic. sorry mate i aint got any pics, easiest thing would be to buy one then you know exactly what you looking for. dead easy job to change aswel, time to grab the spanners.

You can buy the filter separately, under £20.00.

Ok gang,
Job done this morning with no problems, the old one was so full of oil it was like a paint roller ,anyhoo no more oil from dipstick and a good old boost from the engine and things look back to normal ,got the filter from my local stealer ship and it was only £17.62 of the queens coppers,and I could have saved a wee tad more if I had went to a BMW garage as the part was labled with three difrent stickers Landy one, bmw and rover,
