Bit of a water leak coming from LPG vaporiser

Hi all

Had a bit of a scare whilst sitting in a car park today. Engine coolant was
leaking out from the Omnia LPG vaporiser from where the coolant exits the
unit. I proded it abit (as you do) and it leaked faster so I prodded it in
the other direction and it stopped. It seams to come from where the plastic
pipe (elbow shaped) comes out from the main housing. I'm hoping that
there's an o-ring seal thats failed or something else simple. I got the car
home by chucking a bottle of Radweld into the expansion tank and that seemed
to stem the flow for now.

Has anybody every had a similar problem to this? Anybody any idea where I
might get a replacement exit elbow from if I need one?

Thanks in advance

Marcus

1996 P38A 4.6HSE on gas (leeking a bit of coolant!)
1959 SII 2.5D (weekend play thing!)

Try BSS or other local plumbers suppliers.

The elbow just screws in. Take it out and reseal, ptfe tape or similar.

Just let you know that the water outlet is a push in fit that's held in
place with a circlip. The only listed dealers for Omnia in the UK are
Shardlow Land Rovers, who don't do conversions any longer, but haven't told
the LPGA! After a chat with a realy helpful chap at PTP in Hinkley he
called the LPGA for me and found that Shardlow are the only listed agents
for Omnia! With no way of getting another water outlet, I had a trip to
Wickes and got a 15mm copper tank fitting and with a bit of precision angle
grinding & a couple of O-rings, I managed to open the hole in the vaporiser
casing and trim the tank outlet to make it fit! I've been on a trip to
London (from Worksop) approx 300miles today and it's not leaked!! The
repair at £4.00 is better than my other option of fitting a new vaporiser
for about £140.00!

Cheers
