Did a bit of greenlaning the other weekend, managed to mangle my tyres. The holes in it are big enough to stick my hand in - and there's about 6 of 'em around it. Was weird 'cos we were on the road for 5 minutes before we got a really bad shake from rear end - got only knows what we hit.

Needn't have hit much, I'd say most of that damage was done by driving on it.

Yeah I thought that could have been the case...the rim seems fine which is lucky. Still haven't got it replaced. Was sweeping fleabay for tyres and rims for cheap but couldn't find anything suitable. Might go to Bathgate tyres or something tomorrow. Knowing my luck, I'll get another puncture tonight!

That was a unsuccessful attempt at a "Run Flat Tyre".

Total destruction of the sidewall plies.

Scrapper - one would like to think, but I've seen idiots putting tubes in worse.

dont ever skimp on tyres, its the first and strongest link in the chain that connects a driver to the road.

did you see my post about the bulged Disco tyre?

Never felt it .... and it was worn clean through all the tread, the rubber under that, the tread plies including the STEEL wire radial belt, and then the inner sealing layer which was so worn it was leaking air.

Not a sound from it, not a vibration. Just that slow puncture.

HDD of Maps?

This one musta dropped pretty bloody fast. Might get a couple new tyes and stick the spare back on the back. Was going to get some proper tyres and ditch the road ones at some point anyway but haven't really got the cash right now.
Had a lovely set of Disco Alloys with perfect Rally Dakar M&S tyres but sold 'em a few motnhs ago when the rangie failed the MOT on 1,000,000 things. Wish I'd kept 'em now!
