Well its been nearly 4 years since I sold my 86 Defender 90, 3.9 inj v8 with mad 10 x15 chromes running M.T. Bajas , nutty but great fun.
The longing never goes and I have come to my senses [SORT OF] and gone back to my rootes.
I am now the proud owner of a project 2a with an old school Hi comp rover v8 that looks like it might have come out of a rover P6 or similar. Lots to do but lots already done. Hooray for Barn finds.
Been into the midlands finest creation since the mid eighties when I got my first 88 which was a 1958 series 2 with a V8 conversion. Loved them ever since, and have owned 9 in total. Best one was the 58 V8 [until now] and the worst was a 109 safari with a straight six [ must have left my brain at home when I bought that one ].
Freeing up the brakes at the mo [ success ] and making a long list of parts. Ouch.
Lot of questions but will post in relevant sections.
Cheers all

Welcome!
I had a s3 109 safari 6 pot, never run very well, stuck a diahatsu diesel in it, went better.
Swopped it for a motorbike- much better.

Thanks for the welcome people.
Geoff - I sure hope so the Landy has been stored since 2003. By all accounts and from the look of it the motor was fully rebuilt but never run. I can believe this as when I checked the oil, it is as clean as if it was poured out of a can and every nut and bolt and ancillary on the motor is brand new. Suposed to have been hand cranked, but i guess I will find out in a couple of weeks.
Flossie - Haha know your pain, I was so happy to see the back of my Blue Behemoth I swapped it for a ratty red mk3 3ltr capri. That was original drifting before 'Fast and Furious'
